The Northolt Approach is published quarterly
Northolt Approach is the bi-monthly, A4 magazine of RAF Northolt, near Ruislip in Middlesex.
As an operational aerodrome since 1915, the 92 year old Station enjoys close ties to the local community.
RAF Northolt's main role is VIP and Royal Transportation although the range of services provided by the Station to civil aircrafts has increased. Due to its proximity to London it is a favourite airfield for Foreign Heads of State, senior ranking military officers, corporate businessmen and of course celebrities.
With receipts from civilian landing fees now exceeding £1 million pounds a year, and with other facilities like hanger space, offices and
passenger lounges, it all points to a bright and prosperous future for the aviation base.
Northolt has been identified as a 'Core Defence Site', with plans to accommodate more units such as the Queen's Colour Squadron and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force as well as British Forces Post Office.
